Job Description: Python Developer

We are seeking a skilled Python Developer to design, develop, test, and maintain scalable software applications and services. The ideal candidate will work closely with product, QA, DevOps, and business teams to deliver secure, reliable, and high-performing solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Equivalent practical experience and demonstrated Python development expertise may be considered.
  • Understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC), Agile/Scrum practices, and secure coding principles.

Experience

  • 2–5 years of professional experience developing applications using Python.
  • Experience building RESTful APIs, backend services, automation scripts, or data-processing applications.
  • Experience with Python frameworks such as Django, Flask, FastAPI, or similar.
  • Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
  • Experience using Git, code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, and issue-tracking tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
  • Experience deploying applications to cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is preferred.

Skills

  • Strong proficiency in Python and object-oriented programming concepts.
  • Knowledge of web frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
  • Experience designing and consuming REST APIs; familiarity with JSON, authentication, and API security.
  • Proficiency with SQL and databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, or Redis.
  • Familiarity with testing tools such as pytest, unittest, and API-testing tools such as Postman.
  • Knowledge of Git, Docker, CI/CD, Linux, and cloud platforms.
  • Understanding of software design patterns, debugging, logging, performance optimization, and secure coding.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain Python-based applications, APIs, and backend services.
  • Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, UI developers, QA engineers, and DevOps teams to understand requirements.
  • Write clean, reusable, well-documented, secure, and maintainable Python code.
  • Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and integrate applications with databases, third-party services, and internal systems.
  • Create unit, integration, and automated tests; troubleshoot defects and support resolution activities.
  • Optimize application performance, reliability, scalability, and security.
  • Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, technical discussions, and release activities.
  • Maintain technical documentation, including API specifications, deployment procedures, and design documents.
  • Monitor deployed applications, investigate production issues, and provide ongoing support.
  • Follow organizational coding standards, data-security policies, and development best practices.
