Description
A Computer Operator is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and supporting computer systems, servers, networks, and peripheral equipment to ensure smooth and reliable daily operations. This role involves overseeing system performance, running scheduled processes, performing backups, troubleshooting basic technical issues, and supporting users as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor computer systems, servers, networks, and consoles for errors, alerts, performance issues, or system failures.
- Run, schedule, and manage daily batch jobs, system updates, and routine operational scripts.
- Perform regular data backups, verify backup completion, and assist with data recovery when required.
- Troubleshoot basic hardware, software, printer, storage, and network-related issues.
- Escalate complex technical problems to IT support teams or system administrators.
- Maintain records of system incidents, errors, job failures, and corrective actions taken.
- Support internal or external users by answering basic technical questions and logging requests.
- Maintain inventory of computer equipment, parts, and peripheral devices.
- Perform routine equipment cleaning, checks, and preventive maintenance.
- Follow company IT procedures, security guidelines, and operational schedules.
